Councillor wants more public questions at Cheshire East cabinet meetings

Cheshire East Council should not restrict members of the public from asking questions at future cabinet meetings just because the subject isn’t on the agenda, a councillor has said.

The council is due to switch back from its current committee system of governance to a leader and cabinet style in May next year.

At the most recent Cheshire East virtual Cabinet meeting, Cllr Sam Corcoran was irritated that questions to both himself and his Labour/Independent coalition Cabinet, from other equally elected Councillors, took up just over 40 minutes of the meeting.
