Cheshire East Council is planning a register of multi-language speakers after a vulnerable non-English speaking man who hadn’t eaten for two weeks was found dead at his home.
The 64-year-old Slovakian man, referred to as Anton, had died of pneumonia.
Inspectors have released a damning report into failings by Cheshire East Safeguarding Children’s Partnership.
The report points to a series of “failings”, “shortcomings” and “weaknesses” in its role in protecting children from criminal exploitation.
Residents in Cheshire East are being encouraged to nominate people for the Safeguarding & Dignity Awards.
The awards are run by the Safeguarding Adults Board and the Children’s Safeguarding Partnership in Cheshire East.
