Rail travellers between Nantwich and Crewe were delayed today after an accident at Willaston level crossing.

Police had to close the rail line temporarily after the accident involving a lorry at the crossing at around 4pm on November 2.

It’s believed a train was close by when the accident happened, but was brought to a standstill.

The incident has forced delays in rail services between Nantwich and Crewe.

Latest from Arriva Trains Wales says there are minor delays on the Shrewsbury-Manchester line.

Police are investigating.
