Age UK Cheshire has received a donation of £1,094 from Nantwich Health Centre for a series of fundraising coffee mornings.

Residents and local businesses donated funds and items for the raffle at the events, which included a raffle and a Christmas cards and gifts sale.

The mornings were organised by the Patient Panel at Nantwich Health Centre who chose Age UK Cheshire as their charity of the year.

Georgina Alexander-Pulham, fundraiser and marketing officer at Age UK Cheshire, said: “We’d like to express our thanks to everyone on the Patient Panel at Nantwich Health Centre not only for selecting us as charity of the year, but also for the hard work and dedication that they put in to making our fundraising so successful.

“In particular, we’d like to thank Tony Green, chair of the Patient Panel, Liz Tippings, practice manager at Nantwich Health Centre and Dr Gurnani at Nantwich Health Centre. Also a big thanks to everyone who came to see us and donated.”

The mornings coincided with Age UK Cheshire’s Winter Warmth Campaign, which aims to encourage people to take better care of themselves and others during the winter months.

Mornflake donated bags of porridge which were given out to older people during the coffee mornings and at other events in the region.

The money will be used to fund projects in and around Crewe and Nantwich.
