Fund-raisers for the One in Eleven Appeal are to stage a 5km run at the Barony Park in Nantwich this weekend.

The Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity appeal aims to raise £1 million for a new neonatal unit at Leighton Hospital.

The run, which starts at 11am this Saturday March 31, is one of several events campaigners are planning over the coming weeks.

There is also a coffee morning tomorrow (Friday March 30) at the restaurant at Leighton Hospital between 10.30am and 12pm.

Call the fundraising manager on 01270 273248 for details and to sign up.

In a separate event on May 20, mums have organised a table top sale at the Oakley Centre in Crewe, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

People can sell equipment, toys and clothes in good condition.

Tables cost £15, which will go towards the appeal. Entry to the sale is £1 per adult on the day.

There will also be face painting, cake decorating for kids, a raffle and more activities to be confirmed.

Companies attending are Waterbabies, Freddie and Reggie baby and children gifts, Scentsy (wickless candles) and The Nappy Cake Queen.

Sponsors include Nantwich-based Funky Monkey Cafe and Waterbabies.
