Staff at a Nantwich supermarket teamed with local businesses to raise money for Sport Relief.

Employees at Nantwich Sainsbury’s, on Middlwich Road, organised a whole week of activities in and out of the store.

Customers were entertained by staff joining in traditional games such ad egg and spoon racing and three-legged racing.

The front of the store was the centre for a very competitive cycle race and coin collection.

And shoppers amazed staff with their generosity, helping to raise more than £1,300.

Pete Jones, the store’s manager, said: “We have been amazed at the the generosity of our customers especially in the current economic climate.

“We cannot wait to get the final total of how much we have raised.”
