A traditional two-day country fair in a village near Nantwich takes place this weekend.

Marbury Merry Days takes place every May in the field next to St Michael’s Parish Church and Marbury Big Mere.

The festival aims to celebrate the traditions of village life and the close ties between church and the village, between Nantwich and Whitchurch.

The church stands as the focal point in the lives of many in Marbury and proceeds from Merry Days goes towards its upkeep and maintenance.

The Sealed Knot will be present at this year’s Merry Days – the 33rd annual event.

There is a wide range of activities and fun sessions lined up this Saturday and Sunday May 12 and 13.

This includes model aircrafts, puppets, dog and terrier racing, classic car and motorcycle parade, steam railway rides, maypole dancing, dog display teams and more.
