plays - Nantwich Players Theatre - The Witches

The Upstage Theatre School brought ‘The Priory’ to Nantwich this week, writes Claire Faulkner.

The Michael Wynne comedy tells the story of a group of friends who try to come to terms with love, life and having to live without phone signals on a weekend away in the country.

The cast gave a wonderful performance at the Players Theatre in Nantwich, slowly revealing that each character may not be all they seem.

Sian Walker played ‘Kate’, with impeccable comic timing. There were also strong performances from Jess Mullock as ‘Laura’ and Kirsty Challinor as ‘Rebecca’.

Cast opposite were Rob West as ‘Ben’, Justin Williams as ‘Carl’ and Harry Johnson who as well as directing played ‘Daniel’.

With adult themes and sometimes naughty language, ‘The Priory’ is a comedy which most 30 somethings can identify with.

It was directed by Harry Johnson, who at just 17 years of age demonstrates he has a fabulous theatrical career ahead of him.

Congratulations to all those involved in this production, I look forward to seeing your next production.
