Nantwich get their home programme in the Evo-Stik Premier Division underway against Kendal Town.

And it will be the first of two league meetings in just over two weeks between the sides.

Fresh from their fabulous 5-0 victory away at Matlock Town on Saturday, Jimmy Quinn’s men will be looking to build on their success with another fine display in front of their home supporters tonight (August 21)

Kendal forced a last gasp equaliser on Saturday to draw their opening game 2-2 at home to Stafford Rangers.

Dabbers boss Quinn said: “We had a very encouraging and positive pre-season and Saturday’s result was a great start and fabulous for the supporters and just reward for the work that the players have all put in.

“But we wont get carried away, as its a long hard season. However they are a wonderful set of lads with great attitude and are rightly buzzing with confidence.

“We have some great strength in depth and talent throughout the team and as I have said all along I firmly believe that if we can continue to work hard and play to our capabilities, we will have a very successful season.

“We will be looking to put on another entertaining display so hopefully there will be a good home crowd to lift the lads.

“We won’t take Kendal lightly. They are a decent side with the likes of Jack Duggan, Marc Joseph who I know and Kevin Leadbetter, who is always a threat.

“We had a couple of memorable battles with them last season with lots of goals and we managed to do the double.

“I expect this one to be no different. I have a full squad to choose from, with only JJ (Bailey) a minor doubt due to a virus and hopefully we can make our first home game of the season a memorable one.”

Kick off at Weaver Stadium tonight is 7.45pm.
