Jon Gold, Chairman of Nantwich Town FC

BBC Radio Stoke is to broadcast live Nantwich Town’s FA Trophy replay against AFC Fylde tomorrow night (October 30).

The station’s midweek sports special, hosted by Graham McGarry, will be at the Weaver Stadium from 7pm to build up to game.

And McGarry said it was Nantwich’s early season form and Dabbers’  FA Cup run of last season which tempted the BBC.

“It was a fantastic result for the Dabbers on Saturday, against a highly fancied team and it certainly caught our eye,” he said.

“The replay should be an exciting game and hopefully Nantwich can put together another exciting cup run as they did 12 months ago when they captured the imagination of the whole of South Cheshire and beyond.

“Jimmy has a great squad and it’s clear they can build on last season’s successes.

“Hopefully there will be a good turn out to support the team and help them through to the next round. We are looking forward to interviewing some of the supporters and people behind the scenes at the club.”

Nantwich Town chairman Jon Gold (pictured) said: “Any team finishing above AFC Fylde this season will probably win the league.

“While there is still a long way to go, our recent form and Saturday’s performance demonstrated the squad we have is more than capable of competing and beating the best in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

“I would urge anyone who hasn’t been for a while, or at all, to come and enjoy the atmosphere and see the quality of football on offer. We need supporters to get behind the team and to help them go on to even greater success.

“The FA Trophy is a great place to start, as it has the potential ingredients of being a classic cup encounter between two quality exciting teams.”
