Audlem is staging its annual Bonfire & Fireworks display later today (November 3) in the village near Nantwich.

Crewe-based Blitz Fireworks will be choreographing the fireworks display, and there will be fair rides, refreshment, music, entertainment and stalls.

The Audlem Special Events Team (ASET) has organised the event, with gates open at 4pm, bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and fireworks from 7pm.

Laura Jackson-Woods , of ASET, said: “The show will be set to music featuring a variety of songs of different genres and times perfectly synced to the drama of the fireworks, their burst and impact.

“This year sees a new sound provider and for the first time the industry renowned Funktion One sound system will be used at Audlem.

“This calibre of sound provision is usually found at major concerts or festivals such as Glastonbury!”

The winner of Audlem St James’ School Bonfire Art Competition will press the button to start the display featuring hundreds of single shot comets, straight firing cakes, fan cakes and z cakes, mines, candles and aerial shells.

Tickets are £4 from Audlem Post Office, Nantwich TIC or Blitz in Crewe. Gate price £5. Under 5s are free. No sparklers or dogs please.
