Police are investigating a sudden death at a house on a quiet cul-de-sac in Nantwich.

Officers and forensics were called to a property on the Cronkinson estate in Stapeley.

The victim’s identity has not been released while investigations continue and next of kin are informed.

Police were called to the scene in the early hours of this morning (Saturday December 22).

Insp Dave Smithers, head of Nantwich Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: “There has been a sudden death of a person, and as a result a lot of police activity in that area.

“However, it’s not being treated as a crime scene, so there is nothing for the local community to worry about. This is an individual incident which we are dealing with.”

Unconfirmed reports suggest a couple in their 40s lived at the property, but the age or gender of the deceased has not been released.

Police were still at the scene at lunch-time today (December 22).
