A local entrepreneur is to help stage two vintage fairs in Nantwich this summer.

Alexis Beech (pictured) is bringing her Vintage Escapades Handmade and Vintage fairs to Nantwich for two events on July 20 and August 17.

The July event is in association with St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice at Swirly Whirly’s créperie and coffee shop on Pillory Street, Nantwich.

Vintage home-ware and handmade sellers will fill the building for the day, offering a wide variety of products for sale.

Then on August 17, more than 50 individual stalls will pack Nantwich Civic Hall for the Vintage and Handmade Brocante, the largest event Vintage Escapades has staged in the North West.

VintageEscapades Event AugustEvent organiser Alexis said: “I am so excited to be able to showcase some amazing local artists and vintage sellers at these two events in town.

“Swirly Whirly’s is a great place to browse the unique items crafters and collectors from across the region will bring.

“And I’m also really looking forward to our big event at the Civic Hall.

“We have a real touch of glamour with retro make-overs from Birmingham’s Vintage Salon and a fabulous tearoom from Pear of Peas as well as the very best arts, crafts and vintage home-ware.”

Nantwich Film Club is also going back to a Golden Age tonight (July 8) with a screening of Humphrey Bogart’s Oscar winning Casablanca at the Civic Hall.

This classic movie is being shown following a popular vote by the film club’s audience.

It’s the first time in more than 80 years that the film has been shown on the big screen in Nantwich.
