Nantwich Museum‘s new-look shop has been unveiled to visitors.

Trustees hope the development will secure a longer-term income for the Pillory Street museum.

Work has been funded through Association of Independent Museums’ (AIM) Sustainability grants which  allowed the shop to be re-modelled using bespoke, off-the-peg and second-hand shop fittings.

They also funded training for museum staff and volunteers in management of the new facility.

Entry to the museum will remain free.

A wide range of goods including books, cards, games, toys, souvenirs and jewellery are now available.

Also crafts including some made by the museum’s own art and craft group.

“The project has paid dividends with early sales results that are extremely encouraging enabling more investment in stock,” said a museum spokesman.
