Nantwich residents are invited to the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Leighton Hospital for coffee and cake as part of a national fundraising day.

The Macmillan team is taking part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday September 27.

And they are issuing an open invitation for members of the community to join them.

Julie Pieczarka, Macmillan Cancer information and support manager, said: “Last year we were the highest fundraisers in Cheshire, raising more than £3,700 as a hospital, and we are thrilled to be taking part in the event again this year.

“Everybody is welcome to attend, whether it’s for a drink or just to find out some more information about the services the unit can offer.

“As well as serving tea, coffee and cakes, we’ll be holding a raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local companies.

“Every penny raised on the day will go towards supporting more patients and families affected by cancer.”

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
