Brook Hill, of Wrenbury, recovers from skiing accident

A Nantwich golf club event helped to raise more than £1,000 in honour of a young boy badly injured in a skiing accident.

Teams taking part in the Brook Hill Foundation Am-Am at Brookfield Golf Club in Hankelow helped to raise £1,153.

Brook, of Wrenbury, who played at the club, was seriously injured during a ski lesson in France six months ago.

The 10-year-old was hit on the head by an out-of-control skier and was left in a coma in a hospital at Toulouse for two weeks.

Brook was finally able to return home but had to re-learn major basic skills to stay alive, including breathing and swallowing to talking.

His family set up The Brook Hill Foundation to help families and their children cope with the impact of such accidents.

In less than six months, the foundation has raised over £30,000.

And the Brookfield Golf Club event on August 29 has added to that impressive total.

Winners of the competition were a team made up of T Percival, J Welch, J Corbett, and S Longson on 89 points.

2nd was M Horton, R Horton, J Coop, B Yarwood on 84 points.
