Nantwich Litter Group

Nantwich Litter Group is gearing up for its final blitz of the town in 2013 on November 16.

And hardy members are celebrating after the group helped Nantwich win the Gold Medal as “Best Town” in the North West in Bloom Awards.

A spokeswoman said: “Members are delighted Nantwich has won Gold… and are proud to have been able to assist Nantwich in Bloom in making sure that the town looked at its best!”

Their latest clean-up saw 19 volunteers meet at the Barony Park to target Barony Road, Middlewich Road, Barony Park, Davenport Avenue to Vauxhall Road and Beam Heath Way.

They filled 28 bags of rubbish and other assorted items, which were later collected by Cheshire East Council’s Streetscape team.

This was followed by coffee and a chat at Pillory House Coffee Shop on Beam Heath Way.

Anyone available to help in the final clean-up can contact Becky Rostron on 07929 218 373 or e-mail [email protected]

Volunteers will of course continue to litter pick their own chosen areas and this ongoing work is at the heart of the litter group’s success.
