Andy White has been named as Nantwich Town’s Player of the Year for the 2013/14 season.

The Dabbers defender (pictured) received the trophy at the club’s awards night after topping the supporters poll.

Nantwich leading scorer Aaron Burns was runner-up.

“I’m honoured to receive this award,” said Andy after being presented the trophy by Dave Clapp of County Insurance, the club’s main sponsor.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me during my time at the club and particularly the players who helped me settle down when I arrived here.”

The presentation to the former Crewe Alexandra youth was the highlight of an evening of entertainment in the Fairfax Suite, hosted by club chairman Jon Gold.

Former Bury youngster Max Harrop scooped the award for Young Player of the Year.

The 20-year-old picked up the accolade ahead of runner-up Harry Clayton. Midfielder Mark Jones gained the award for Player’s Player of the Year.

Josh Wilson was named as Supporter of the Year. The 14-year-old, who went on a sponsored cycle ride earlier in the season, pipped the late Frank Hope to the honour.

Manager Danny Johnson also took the opportunity to thank fans for their support during the season.

“The fans have been great,” he said.

“On behalf of my management team and all the players, I’d like to thank you for the terrific support you’ve given us throughout the season.”
