Richmond Village Nantwich is joining a national programme to encourage people to visit care homes in their area on Friday June 20.

The National Care Home Open Day is inviting homes around the UK to open their doors to the general public.

And they are being encouraged to choose a country as a theme, with Richmond Nantwich plumping for Italy.

The town’s MP Edward Timpson will be meeting visitors and residents as he supports the initiative.

And Italian chef Lello, from Romazzinos Restaurant in Nantwich, will be staging an Italian Cookery Show from 3pm.

Audience members can take part and taste freshly made pizzas and pastas.

Richmond Village Nantwich advisor Nicola Tooke said: “We are all extremely proud of Richmond Nantwich. The Open Day is an ideal time for people to come and see exactly what makes us so special!”

The event starts at 1pm. Reservations for an Italian themed lunch can be made in advance by telephoning 01270 629080.
