Nantwich murder mystery trail guide

A local writer has launched a “murder mystery” trail around Nantwich to help families get out and about during school holidays.

The trail, put together by Claire Britton, is one of 25 guides set across Cheshire, North Wales and Merseryside.

They are available at local stores like Nantwich Bookshop.

The Nantwich trail is circular from the Civic Hall car park, and is about 1.5 miles. It takes around an hour and half to complete.

Claire sets the scene here for the Nantwich “murder mystery”!

“Local residents were stunned to hear of the discovery of the body of Gordon Zola, the local cheese maker, and tributes have been pouring in. Foul play is suspected as the secret recipe for his award winning Cheshire Cheese is missing. Investigations have produced a list of suspects and possible weapons. Can you help by successfully identifying the guilty party and the weapon used?”

“There is an optional 1 mile detour to the Lt Brown memorial for the extra energetic!” added Claire.

“It is one of my favourite trails as it is full of dreadful cheese jokes and has one clue that proves particularly tricky!

“Will your readers be able to solve that troublesome clue do you think?”

In all, there are more than 1,200 trails all over the country. Each cost either £6.99 or £6 depending on the theme.

They are available to buy as a pack from www.trailsforall.co.uk or as a download from www.treasuretrails.co.uk
