A51 Bypass crash

Two people have been killed in a pile-up on the M56 motorway in Cheshire.

And police are warning closures and delays will hit thousands of motorists around the county.

They are advising commuters and travellers to find alternative routes.

The accident happened at about midday today (October 9) and involved a bus with no passengser, two lorries and a car.

The motorway is now open on the Westbound carriageway following a full closure, and police are hoping to open one carriageway Eastbound later this afternoon.

Scene examination and vehicle removal is underway.

Motorists are advised the incident to ongoing and there is significant congestion affecting the M56, Runcorn expressways and the A56 into Frodsham.
