There were convincing victories for Railway Hotel, Willaston White Star and AFC Leopard in the Crewe FA Sunday Challenge Cup.

But it was Division One side Wistaston Ath who pulled off the shock of the round with 2-1 win over Premier Division Sydney Arms.

Jordan Smith gave Wistaston a half-time lead but in the second half Ben Herbert equalised for Sydney before Ryan Broadhurst netted the winner.

Talbot’s first half woes continue this time being 2-0 down to Holmes Chapel but a good team talk and substitution changed the game as Talbot scored five second half goals to go through 5-2 with goals from Ant Broadhurst 2, Gaz Gordon 2 and Rory Saunders.

A Mike Blundell hat-trick was enough to see AFC Leopard through to the next round beating Scholar Green 3-0.

Crewe Ath beat Ocean for the second week running this time winning 3-2 in a close cup tie.

Willaston WS beat Nantwich YF 5-0 with a hat-trick from Steve McNicholl and other goals from Mike Evans and Liam Kettle.

Railway Hotel found their scoring form with a 7-1 win over Goostrey. Jez Tagg 2, Lee Mellor 2, Danny Lavalette 2 and Matt cope scored with Matt Ranson getting a consolation for Goostrey.

FC Semtex beat AFC Barkode 6-0.

Sandbach Town won the local derby with a thrilling 4-3 win over Rookery Tavern, Tim Lamb 2, Nik Perriham and Chris Shaw scoring for Sandbach and Steve Roberts, Stephen Weekes and Kent Taylor replying for Rookery.

In Division One the leaders Leighton lost 1-0 to Bank Corner (Andy Garrett) a result which opens up the battle for the top spot with the top two clashing next week.

Faddiley moved level on points beating rivals Rising Sun 2-1.

Joey Hylton put Faddiley ahead after 23 minutes, Gary Pownall equalised almost immediately with Ash Lawton scoring just after half-time which proved to be the winning goal.

Both goalkeepers produced excellent saves to keep the score at 2-1.

Salvador hit Santa Maria for six, winning 6-1 with goals from Simon Evans 2, Tom Edge 2 and Ben Clarke, Dominic Latham scoring for Santa Maria.

Boot & Shoe Villa returned to winning ways, beating Crewe FC 3-2 with goals from Rob Heywood, Adam Smithies and Kieran Beech.

Louis Everall and Nath Quinn scored for Crewe FC.

Haslington, with goals from Jordan Prince, Nathan Bennett and Dale Campbell, beat bottom club Audlem 3-1.
