Police are hunting a robber who attacked a 19-year-old man in a South Cheshire alleyway.

The victim was dragged to the ground and had his MP3 player and mobile phone stolen in the incident on Flag Lane, Crewe.

It happened as he walked past an alleyway leading to Bateman Close at about 5.30pm on Monday (January 12).

The offender had followed the victim on to Richard Moon Street and overtook him before appearing to enter the alleyway.

As the victim walked past the alleyway, the offender grabbed him and forced him to the floor.

He then stole the victim′s MP3 player and mobile phone before running off in the direction of Goddard Street.

He is white, 5ft 9in, between 20 and 21, with a heavy muscular build. He had black spikey hair and was wearing a red and grey hooded top with grey tracksuit bottoms. His face was covered with a scarf.

Det Con Jo Gooddy, of Crewe CID, said: “Fortunately the victim was not injured during the incident but he was left shaken by what had happened.

“We are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the incident or who may know who the offender is.

“Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 637 of 12 January 2015. Information can also be left anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”
