A South Cheshire motors business finished 2014 on a high after being named best retailer in Volkswagen’s UK network.
Crewe Volkswagen was named number one in a table of 200 retailers nationally.
The Weston Road business was in top spot for most of the year, with the final rankings confirmed at the annual retailer conference.
The rankings are based on Volkswagen’s ‘one business scorecard’, which monitors and measures performance across sales, after-sales and customer satisfaction.
It was a triple celebration for family-owned parent company Swansway Group as it was named Retail Group of the Year, and Wrexham Volkswagen secured number 2 position in the overall network rankings.
Ben Gilbert, brand manager at Crewe Volkswagen, said: “I am thrilled to be starting 2015 on such a high.
“The success of Crewe Volkswagen is very much a team effort, and every member of the team works hard to deliver exemplary customer service.
“The added bonus of Swansway and Crewe also both performing so well is proof the Swansway way is the right way!”
Swansway Group director John Smyth (pictured) added: “We are incredibly proud to see two of our businesses and the Group secure the top spots in their categories.
“We are driven by passion, we are caring, honest and proud and I believe it is these qualities that have contributed yet again to our success.”

I’m a little surprised too, as every time I’ve been in, I’ve been comprehensively ignored. I did wonder if it was because they got so much interest from Bentley’s car scheme. When I went into the Nissan dealership, though, as a cash buyer, not one salesman even acknowledged me, let alone offered to help. I wonder if they realised that their head-in-the-computer neglect instantly lost them an easy sale? I’ve had some experience of car-buying in the US, and believe me, it’s a very different (and pleasant) experience. Our dealers generally have no idea how to treat customers.
This is astounding.
It’s a terrible dealership. The staff are rude, don’t call back when they say they will.
The Swansway group in general are awful
