A man was attacked and suffered a broken jaw in an incident outside a takeaway in Nantwich town centre.

The serious assault happened outside the Subway takeaway shop on Swine Market at 1.45am yesterday (February 8).

A 19-year-old man from Crewe suffered a broken jaw in the attack. He is currently being treated for his injuries in hospital.

Cheshire Police say the attacker was white, with dark hair, medium build and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a t-shirt.

Detective Constable Brian Hulse, from Crewe CID, said: “This was an extremely serious assault which resulted in the victim, a 19-year-old man from Crewe, receiving a broken jaw, he is currently recovering from his injuries in hospital.

“I would like to appeal to anyone in the area at the time of the incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 113 of 8/2/2015.”
