Railway Hotel progressed in the Premier Division Cup with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Sydney Arms.

Matt Cope gave the Crewe Regional Sunday League Premier leaders the lead in the first half before Paul Bowyer equalised for Sydney.

Both teams went for the winner and Lee Mellor gave Railway the lead following a goalmouth scramble. Rick Barlow made sure of the victory with an injury time goal.

In the Division One Cup, Santa Maria beat Sandbach Town 5-0 with a hat-trick from Adam Socha and further goals from Ben Reddock and Tim Woodcock.

In the Premier Division, FC Semtex kept up the pressure on Railway Hotel by beating Square One 3-0 with Danny Roberts scoring twice and Dale Capper netting the other.

Crewe Ath found the target 10 times as they beat Talbot 10-2, Josh Clarke scoring four times, other scorers were Sinnott (2), Hudson, Rowley, Owo and Tickle. Nath Cotterill scored both goals for Talbot.

In Division One, leaders Salvador must have thought it wasn’t their day when Haslington led 2-0 at half time with two penalties converted by Dan Taylor and Adam Smith.

But the comeback started with 20 minutes to go with goals from Craig Washington and Kev Hancock to level the match.

And then a injury time winner from Jim Littlewood completed an amazing comeback.

Second-placed Leighton won 3-1 at Boot & Shoe Villa with goals from Tomkinson, Rogerson and Blackshaw with Briddon getting the goal for Boot & Shoe.

Crewe FC’s Rich Hassall scored as they drew 1-1 with Bank Corner, who had Chris Hackney to thanks for securing a point.

A terrific match between Faddiley and Nantwich YF ended with a 4-3 win for Nantwich YF.

The winning goal came very late in the game, although the Nantwich goalkeeper had to make two excellent saves in injury time to confirm the win.

Faddiley scorers were Ash Lawton, Rich Dodd and Joey Hylton. Nantwich YF scorers were Rich Fotheringham, Rich Ford and Chris Cliffe with two.
