Liam Shotton signs for Nantwich Town

Nantwich Town have signed Liam Shotton from Leek Town.

The 6ft 3in target man previously spent a short spell with the Dabbers in 2008.

And recently he has been helping to drive Leek Town’s Evo-Stik Division One promotion challenge with 25 goals.

Shotton said: “I have really enjoyed my time at Leek and the supporters, management and directors have been wonderful to me.

“It was obviously an extremely difficult decision to make.

“However, I am hungry to play at the highest level and after learning of Nantwich’s interest in me and speaking with Phil about his plans for the future.

“I am excited about becoming a Dabber again and getting reacquainted with the wonderful facilities and its supporters.”

Nantwich Town boss Phil Parkinson added: “I have made no secret of my desire to strengthen our squad.

“But big proven goal scorers at this level are difficult to find and Liam ticks all the boxes for me.

“I am sure he will be a great addition to the fabulous squad of players we already have.

“And our supporters will soon hopefully have another goal scorer to cheer on.”
