Winner Fred Bowers trophy, Weaver Wander Rally 2015

Scores of classic cars enjoyed the summer weather around Nantwich today as the Weaver Wander Rally took place.

Members of the Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver helped organise the event enjoyed by hundreds in the town.

The cars assembled at Reaseheath College and passed through the centre of Nantwich for the official send-offs.

They then made their way to a ‘secret’ spectacular destination for lunch, before returning to Reaseheath later in the afternoon.

Winner of the Fred Bowers Trophy for Best Car was a 1962 D type Jaguar driven by Roger and Lin Bailey from Audley (pictured).

The trophy has been renamed after Fred, lead organiser of the Rally for many years before his untimely death recently.

Proceeds from those who entered event are being donated to The Stroke Association and Count The Kicks charities, along with other local charities that are supported by the Rotary club.

A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Crewe & Nantwich Weaver said they wished to thank Car Transplants Ltd for its continued sponsorship of the event.

To add to the occasion crowds in the town also enjoyed a fly over by the famous Red Arrows at lunchtime.

The Arrows were on their way to an air show in Llandudno, North Wales.
