A couple invited on a day out by their South Cheshire car dealer, ended it by getting engaged!
Steve Platt and Anne Longworth were among more than a dozen customers invited on the Peugeot RCZ coupe day by Gateway Crewe.
The couple (pictured), who live in Weston, ended the day out on a steam train in Llangollen – where Steve promptly went down on one knee and proposed.
Keith Lloyd, at family-run Crewe Peugeot, said: “We take them out for the day starting at the garage here and going off to a mystery destination.
“This year we ended up at Llangollen, catching a steam train and having afternoon tea on the train.
“Steve and Anne have been on the RCZ day before on previous days and have really enjoyed it.
“So they got engaged on the footplate of the steam train before we moved off!”
Steve and Anne were among a group of 16 cars in the line that drove all the way in convoy to Llangollen.
“It looked an impressive sight,” added Keith.
