hat-trick at Marine - Nantwich Town goalscorer Josh Hancock v Bradford Park Avenue

Nantwich Town have earned a home replay in the FA Trophy after a fine 1-1 away at Conference North side Bradford Park Avenue.

The Dabbers more than matched their higher league opponents in this second round clash, rearranged after postponement last Saturday.

Josh Hancock (pictured) gave Nantwich Town the lead shortly after half time.

Andy White’s cross from the edge of the area on the right found it’s way to Hancock in the box and he fired it home to make it 1-0 on 56 minutes.

But the hosts fought back and Terry Smith had to pull off a brilliant save to deny Chilaka who shot from an angle.

The pressure finally told in the 73rd minute when Bradford equalised through Michael Potts.

Even then, Nantwich continued to be a threat and created promising positions in the final 15 minutes.

They through centre-half Mat Bailey up front, and player-coach Danny Griggs also made a substitute appearance near the end.

Elliot Osborne had a chance to win it in injury time with a dangerous free-kick, but he blazed it over the bar.

The replay is set for next Tuesday January 26, kick off 7.45pm.

The club is hoping for a large home support to cheer them on. Victory will see them host Stourbridge in the last 16, when they will be just three wins from Wembley.

Nantwich return to Evo-Stik Premier League action this Saturday January 23 when they welcome league leaders Blyth Spartans to the Weaver Stadium, kick off 3pm.
