Unbeaten Railway Hotel suffered a shock exit in the Crewe Regional Sunday League Presidents Cup.

Railway were held to a goalless draw by Sydney Arms after extra-time, and then lost in a penalty shoot-out.

Crewe Ath had a good weekend recording a 5-1 league win over AFC Leopard on Friday night, followed by a 3-0 win at Wistaston Ath in the Presidents Cup.

Scorers in the league game were PJ Hudson (2), Nathan Tickle, Malc Bostock and Shannon Sinnott Jnr.

Scorers in the cup game were Warren Hudson, PJ Hudson and Josh Clarke.

Rising Sun also progressed to the semi-finals with a close 4-3 win over Betley FC.

Scorers for Rising Sun were Kenny Mather (2), Gaz Pownall and Daz Lockett, Gaz Pownall also scored for the opposition with an own goal.

Other scorers for Betley were Tom Halligan and Rich Blakeman.

A Liam Kettle goal was enough to send Willaston WS through to the semi-finals at the expense of NHB.

In the Premier Division, AFC Barkode won 5-0 against Salvador with a hat-trick from Roberts and goals from Walton and Blenim.

Talbot secured their first league win of the season against Leighton FC which sees them swap places at the foot of the table.

Talbot’s scorers were Gary Gordon and Steve Watts.

In Division One, bottom club Market Tavern picked up their first points of the season with a 6-2 win over Boot & Shoe Villa with goals from Troy Ramshaw (2), Kane Potter (2), Dan Stephenson and Dan Morgan.

Ash McLennan and Gary Beardsmith scored for Boot & Shoe Villa.

Brunel Arms moved up to second place in the League following a 5-0 win at Audlem with goals from Ricky Mellor (2), Nathan Jones (2) and Kriss Spencer.

Bank Corner edged out Haslington FC 5-4 with Will Cork (2), Andy Garrett (2) and Chris Card scoring for Bank Corner and Grant Coiley (2), Mike White and Chris Woolstencroft replying for Haslington.

Crewe FC, with the help of a Jason Riley hat-trick, beat Sandbach Town 4-1.

Crewe FC’s other scorer was Ben Reddock with Tim Lamb scoring for Sandbach Town.
