Evo-Stik club of the month Nantwich Town 5-1 Bamber Bridge

Nantwich Town have been named Northern Premier League club of the month chosen by league sponsors Evo-Stik.

It follows an excellent month of football for the Dabbers.

This culminated in their historic win over National League Dover Athletic on Saturday, earning a place in the semi-finals of this season’s FA Trophy.

A presentation was made tonight (March 1) before kick off of Nantwich’s league cup tie against Bamber Bridge.

Nantwich Town eased to a 5-1 victory at the Weaver Stadium in this third round tie to progress to face Colwyn Bay in the quarter finals.

Ben Cosgrove set the Dabbers on their way in front of more than 200 fans, with a strike in the 30th minute.

Elliot Osborne doubled their lead with a 55th minute penalty, before Bamber Bridge pulled one back four minutes later through Regan Linney.

But Nantwich continued to pour forward, and Saturday’s hero against Dover Liam Shotton bagged a quick-fire double in the 67th and 75th minutes to seal the win.

Steve Jones completed the scoring in the 90th minute to complete a fine few days for Phil Parkinson’s team.

They return to league action this Saturday with a tough trip away at Darlington.
