Time and Place textiles - Nantwich Map Marks by Ruth Axson

A Time and Place textiles exhibition has opened in the Millennium Gallery at Nantwich Museum until June 18.

It features the work of Breakaway Textile Group, celebrating the skills and pleasure of creative textile work.

There are three contrasting themes – two inspired by the museum’s artefacts and local history, and the third reflects how other artists have influenced each contributor.

The eye-catching exhibition appeals to a variety of interests for visitors to the Pillory Street venue.

They all belong to the Embroiderers’ Guild or Quilters’ Guild and aim to produce innovative and exciting work.

Some members run the South Cheshire Young Embroiderers’ group which is keen to develop the stitched art textile skills of young people.

Entry to the museum and exhibition is free.

Wow some beautifully crafted items there, shame they are not offered for sale.
