Showtime - Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

South West Cheshire Scouts have been riding along on the crest of a wave producing theatre for 78 years, writes Claire Faulkner.

This year, The Crewe Gang Show at The Lyceum had the traditional variety show feel.

Full of music, comedy and people taking to the stage, perhaps for the very first time with bags of enthusiasm and energy.

Directed by Alan Dimelow and Simon Piasecki, there were many wonderful moments throughout the show.

From the sketches ‘Latercomers’ and ‘The Lost Scouts’ to musical moments of ‘The Ugly Bug Ball’ and ‘Happy’.

My favourite part of the show was the rendition of ‘Down on The Farm’.

A well thought-out performance, and wonderfully effective. I could watch that again and again.

The legendary motto is ‘Be Prepared’, and I really wasn’t prepared for the Tiako drumming section in the second half.

They were quite simply brilliant.

Everyone on stage worked really well.

So, to the stage manager Kevin Greatbanks and all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Leaders… well done.

I hope to see you back at The Lyceum for your next show when you celebrate your 80th Anniversary.
