Generous South Cheshire College staff helped raised more than £800 in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The college’s award-winning Academy Restaurant and Deli hosted the event, where a selection of cakes were served throughout the morning.

Members of the college community contributed by baking cakes to suit all tastes, including Slimming World options.

Staff in college were drawn to the event to hold meetings and community organisation representatives from local community also supported the event.

Money raised from coffee, cakes and a raffle totalled £840.00 in just one morning.

Linda Vickers, catering, retail and cleaning services manager, said: “We were overwhelmed with the support people gave before and during the event.

“Local companies and some of our suppliers donated cakes and then so many people attended the event to help raise money for such a good cause.”

Macmillan Chief Executive Ciaran Devane added: “Every penny raised at Macmillan Coffee Mornings will help fund more services for people affected by cancer.

“The support means there will be enough practical, medical, financial and emotional support to help to change the lives of everyone affected by cancer for the better.

“And for that, we think you should feel good!”
