athletes - U11 boys winning team crewe and Nantwich, sportshall finals in Widnes

Young Crewe and Nantwich athletes swept the board with five trophies at the North West Sportshall League Finals in Widnes.

U11s, U13s and U15s teams led the club to victory with five of the six teams beating clubs from around the region.

And there were a number of superb individual performances at the finals yesterday (January 22).

Both the Under 15s girls and boys teams won the team trophy, the girls competing against Macclesfield, Southport, Deeside and Wirral, and the boys against Liverpool, St Helens, West Cheshire and Wirral.

In the U15s girls, Marcie Lewis won individual golds in the long jump and triple jump.
Their 4×2 relay team also won gold.

For the U15 boys, Ethan Hall scooped a gold in the 6-lap, while Oliver Taylor won the shot.

The U13s girls came out on top against Liverpool, St Helens, West Cheshire, Wirral.

U11 boys relay sportshall finals widnes, crewe and nantwich athleticsAnd there were individual golds for Ruby Bowie in the 2-lap race, and Emma Farrington and Macy Preece in 8-lap parlaaf.

U13s boys, who took on Warrington, St Helens, West Cheshire and Wirral, also won the team event.

And winning golds were Ben Verbickas in the 2-lap, Oliver Atkinson in the 4-lap, and Drew Bradley and Jake Wilson in the 8-lap parlaaf.

Drew also won a gold in vertical jump, and Oliver Doyle in the shot.

Crewe and Nantwich U11 Boys won the team trophy competing against Liverpool, Macclesfield, West Cheshire, Wirral.

And the U11 Girls (pictured, below), came third against Macclesfield, Southport Waterloo, West Cheshire, Wirral.

There were no individual medals awarded in U11s category.
