Dave J on stage 2015 - Audlem Party in the Park

Audlem village will be turning the clock back to the 1980s for their annual Party on the Park this weekend.

Thousands of families are expected to descend on the village near Nantwich this Saturday July 1.

The playing field will be transformed into a concert venue to stage its 16th Party on the Park event.

What started out as a sedate evening of proms has transformed over the last five years into an extravaganza of tribute acts.

People from the surrounding towns and villages of South Cheshire and North Shropshire attend the event.

And this year, “80s Mania” are set to headline the event.

Heralded as Europe’s premier 1980s multi-tribute concert show, 80s Mania has been wowing starved 1980s music fans for the last eight years as the act has toured through the UK and Europe.

They will perform more than 35 smash hits from acts including Duran Duran, The Human League, Kim Wilde, Culture Club, Wham and Madonna.

Organisers Audlem Special Events Team are hoping ticket-holders will get into the spirit of things by dressing up in 1980s fancy dress.

Support act “New Moon Fever” will warm up the party-goers with 1950s rock and roll.

The Rockabilly ensemble consists of local legends Billy Gibbons and Jim Kirkpatrick.

Compere for the party will be Dave Johnson, the well-known Signal Radio DJ (pictured).

Tickets are still on sale at Williams Newsagents of Audlem (cash only), at Nantwich Tourist Information Centre or online via the event website www.audlem-aset.org
