A Nantwich business has launched an initiative to put extra cash in the coffers of South Cheshire schools.

Watts Mortgage and Wealth Management has introduced a referral scheme which pays schools £150 on the successful completion of a product taken out by parents or family members.

The scheme is the brainchild of father-of-four Barry Jones, a director of the firm whose children attend Wistaston Church Lane Academy.

Mr Jones, who specialises in helping families with life and critical illness cover, said: “Local schools are operating on tight budgets and we believe the corporate sector should be doing more to support them.

“Watts team members live and work in the community and our children go to local schools.

“This is a way in which we can give back and demonstrate to other local businesses how a simple referral scheme can make a big difference to school finances.”

First to get involved was Wistaston Church Lane Academy where building work is currently underway to create a new school office and library.

Also onboard this week are Wybunbury Delves and Sandbach High as well as Highfields Primary and Malbank in Nantwich.

Watts, based on Beam Heath business park, will provide the schools with leaflets and marketing material and follow up on all the introductions.

He added: “Watts has been part of the South Cheshire community for 25 years.

“We are not transactional sales people but have long term relationships with our clients and their families, and only offer advice.

“Many local parents will already use us as a company and by encouraging others to ‘shop local’ and use our services we create a relationship which offers mutual benefits to the community.

“My children go to school in Wistaston and I know just how thrilled they are when they receive new books and sports equipment.

“We can’t wait to hear from schools about how they have spent the money, shopping for the little extras they couldn’t normally afford.

“We would be delighted to speak to any school in the South Cheshire community which would like to be part of the scheme.”
