Sporty Audlem girl, Everybody winner

A sporty girl from Audlem has been named Everybody Junior Member of the Year 2017.

Audlem St James pupil Isabella Woods scooped the honour which rewards a 5-11 year-old Cheshire East resident who has shown dedication to health and activity.

Isabella, eight, who is a member of Crewe and Nantwich Athletics Club, was praised by Everybody Awards host Sophie Coleman.

Sophie said: “Isabella shows exceptional commitment to leading a healthy and active lifestyle by attending weekly swimming lessons, cross country training, brownies and other after school sports sessions.

“That’s not to mention she recently has been accepted as a member of Crewe and Nantwich Athletics Club, completed several charity races, a triathlon and a Duathlon all at the age of 8!

“Isabella is also mindful of her nutrition by eating healthily and baking sugar free cakes.

“Her commitment and dedication to health and activity is such to be admired by all, especially at such a young age.”

Everybody 2017 award winners

Everybody is a charitable trust which operates 15 leisure and recreation centres in Cheshire East area including Nantwich Swimming Pool, Barony Sports Complex and Cumberland Arena.

The Everybody Junior Awards 2017 took place on December 6 at Holmes Chapel Community Centre.

Fellow award winners included Mia Brookes, 10, who achieved bronze at the outdoor snowboarding championships for half pipe behind adult GB Winter Olympians Aimee Fuller and Lesley McKenna.

Crewe FC’s Jacob Cliffe, aged 10, was honoured for his community work.

And eight-year-old Arthur Elliott won for setting himself the challenge of running a marathon across nine runs in a month.
