Arsonists used gas canisters to torch the back of a property in the village of Ridley, near Nantwich, detectives say.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the arson at a house on Wrexham Road in Ridley.

Offenders have used gas canisters to set fire to the back of the property and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to extinguish the blaze.

Detective Constable Natalie Carthy, of Crewe CID, said: “Thankfully, no one was injured but we are urging anyone who has any information to come forward.

“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously please call us on 101.”

The fire happened at about 8.30pm on Sunday, April 8.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting 18100097092.
