The Andrews Panto & Plays Society (TAPPS) are performing a comedy version of ‘A Christmas Carol’ on January 11 and 12, writes Jonathan White.

The show will be at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Bedford Street, Crewe starting at 7pm both days with a matinee on Saturday at 2pm.

Ticket only, with prices for adults = £5, children = £2.50. A family ticket (2 adults/2 children) = £12.

Money from this year’s pantomime will go to St Andrew’s Church and charities, and a small amount will be held in reserve for future TAPPS productions.

TAPPS have given away more than £3,000 in the years since its formation.

Pantomime organiser Fred Allman said: “Our production is a tongue in cheek version of the Charles Dickens classic, following our tradition of presenting pantos with a slightly different angle from the norm.

“I guarantee audiences will leave with a whole new perception of this well-known story.”

TAPPS was formed in November 2014 to stage a panto for the local community in the St Andrews Church area.

Since then, the society has grown and includes many people from the local community and further afield, working together with church members.

Since its formation, the society has staged five pantos, five variety shows and hosted play reading evenings throughout the last five summers.

Some members have been involved in dramatic presentations in St Andrews Church.

The society also stages theatre trips, country walks and other events throughout the year.

TAPPS is non-profit making so any money goes to charities and the church.
