Job Club Team - CAP on Market street church

Nantwich Job Club will be starting a second Steps to Employment course next week.

The CAP (Christians Againts Poverty) club is held at Market Street Church and will begin the new course on February 5.

It follows the success of the first course held last year.

Nantwich residents looking for work are being given another chance to improve their employability with the free course.

Members of St Mary’s Church in Nantwich, who have been trained by UK charity Christians Against Poverty, are again running the club aimed at helping the local community to best handle the current economic downturn.

Job club manager Kay Carson, who will be leading the CAP Job Club sessions, said: “When it comes to job hunting, having the right tools and techniques up your sleeve can really improve your chances in finding work.

“We provide a personal service which gives people both practical and emotional support.”

St Mary’s is one of more than 100 churches of different Christian traditions across the UK who will be running a CAP Job Club, as they work together to positively impact the communities around them.

CAP Job Clubs works with individuals to meet their personal needs.

Sessions cover practical topics such as identifying strengths, CV writing and interview techniques.

She added: “With many people facing insecure and irregular employment, we hope to help people gain the confidence and skills to access the jobs offering better conditions.”

The next course takes place in Market Street Church, Market Street, starting at 9.30am on Tuesday February 5.

The Job Club Drop-in is open every Tuesday from 9.30 until 12.30 every Tuesday.
