damaged flower beds in nantwich - Copy

Yobs have again wrecked flower beds in Nantwich town centre, destroying the hard work of Nantwich in Bloom volunteers.

These pictures sent in by readers show one flower bed ripped up near the town square, with plants and flowers strewn across the path.

It’s believed the vandalism took place last night or in the early hours of this morning (July 31).

It’s not the first time such an incident has happened in Nantwich.

Exactly a year ago to the day, yobs went on a similar wrecking spree at night, as reported by Nantwich News.

It sparked angry reaction 12 months ago, and led police to review CCTV cameras in the town square and Pepper Street to identify the offenders.

Reaction has been similar this time around.

“This is so sad to see,” said one reader on Facebook, while another called for CCTV images to be published of the offenders.

The damage has been reported to both Nantwich Police and Nantwich Town Council.

A spokesman for Nantwich Police said: “We’ll review the CCTV and look to identify those responsible.

“From a policing point of view this is an isolated incident that we haven’t seen now for many months.

“If identified, those responsible will be swiftly brought to justice and we would yet again reiterate to those that involve themselves in ASB that the town is very well covered by both Cheshire east and business CCTV.”

  1. Just what have speed ramps or new paving got to do with this article?

However once these morons have been identified maybe a few days weeding the public spaces would be useful.

People spent hours making our town lovely, bring back the Pillory Lane stocks!!

  2. Worried about flowers??
You want to put some proper speed ramps down manor road,, as it’s bloody stupid how fast cars go down there!! Lives are worth more than flowers!

  3. A year ago to the day, a little more than coincidence I think.

If you no who Did it a year ago it might be worth having a chat with them and their friends .

  4. This is the Least of the Council’s Problems..Let’s See less Weeds in Public Spaces and New Paving in Beam Street
