ditch - Cheshire Fire and Rescue from Audlem Fire Station displayed a full size fire appliance

A woman and three children had to be rescued after their car became trapped in floods in Audlem.

The incident happened on Green Lane where the flood was in a dip in the road, say fire crews.

The vehicle was trapped in flood waters 2ft deep by an old railway bridge.

Fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe were called out at around 9pm last night (August 9).

Firefighters were able to push the car out of the water and into a private driveway.

Before they left, they contacted Cheshire East Council highways department to request barriers to prevent further cars entering the flood water.
