Police are appealing for witnesses after two pensioners were critically injured in yesterday’s crash in Burland, near Nantwich.
The collision involved a blue Honda 4×4 car and a white Volvo articulated heavy goods vehicle on the A534 Wrexham Road shortly before 3pm (October 9).
Two local women – aged 79 and 80 – sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
The 79-year-old driver was taken to hospital via an air ambulance.
The 80-year-old went to hospital in a road ambulance.
They are both currently in a critical but stable condition.
We reported yesterday how fire crews had to cut away the car’s roof to free the trapped women.
