Police have moved to reassure residents living in fear after a shooting incident in Nantwich.
Town councillors said residents living in the Arnold Street area of the town have voiced concerns over the shooting on October 3.
Shots were fired at a property on Arnold Street and a discharged firearm recovered by officers.
Cllr Stuart Bostock said: “There are people down there who concerned about it.
“They believe there is drug activity going on down there, with cars and people turning up at all times. People living in that area are very worried.”
PC Matt Stonier told Nantwich Town Council: “The investigation is still ongoing.
“It appears to be an isolated incident, most likely to be a drug issue so not something he community needs to be concerned about.
“However, if people do have information they can come forward anonymously.”
No one was injured as a result of the shooting incident, but a window was damaged.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “No one has been arrested or charged in connection with the incident.”
