Crewe Lyceum Theatre, to stage a wedding fayre, and summer events

Crewe Lyceum Theatre has a host of shows coming up in the next few weeks.

Here’s our rundown of what’s on at the popular venue.

An Evening With Sir Geoff Hurst, Wednesday 29 January, 7:30PM
Football legend Sir Geoff Hurst talks about his illustrious West Ham and England career and even how over 50 years on from England’s World Cup victory, he remains the only player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup Final. Knighted in 1998, Sir Geoff will also hold a Q&A session for fans as well as the chance to meet this iconic sporting figure.

Jim Davidson – Last Man Standing, Sunday 2 February, 7:30PM
The masterful, outrageous and hysterically funny comedy legend ‘General’ Jim Davidson embarks on his comedy campaign around the UK in 2020, following his acclaimed sell out The People Fight Back tour. Who will he upset this time? Which battles will he win, which will he lose? One thing’s for certain, Jim never retreats!

Something About Simon, Tuesday 4 February, 7:30PM
Fresh from its critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe run and its New York debut, experience the songs of one of the world’s greatest performers. In this brand new show singer-songwriter Gary Edward Jones not only recites the music of one of his idols, but also tells the unique story of Paul Simon combining visuals, stage design and of course… the music. From classic ballads like The Sound of Silence, America and Kathy’s Song, to the more upbeat Me and Julio and Wristband.

Spirit of the Dance, Friday 7 February, 7:30PM

The Music of Judy Garland, Saturday 8 February, 7:30PM
Not many names deserve the title of legend more than Judy Garland. The actress, singer, dancer and vaudevillian enjoyed an illustrious career spanning almost half a century. Join West End leading lady Dense Nolan as she brings her own vibrant style and world class vocals to classic Garland hits such as The Man that Got Away, Stormy Weather and the time-honoured Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Absolute Certainty, Friday 7-Saturday 8 February, Crewe Lyceum Studio, 7:45PM
Finn’s off to uni, and Lee, his brother Deano’s best mate, wants to teach him ‘how to have fun AND to look after himself’. Deano, a builder who lives for the weekend, is not so keen to have his younger brother cramping his style. Despite his best efforts to discourage their friendship, Finn and Lee get closer when Lee passes on a secret message from their estranged mother. In an environment where no-one is safe to talk about feelings, let alone sexuality, it’s easy to misread the signs. One drunken night, a line is crossed; but by who? What actually happened? It’s difficult to find out when nobody wants to talk.

Sunday Night at the Lyceum, Sunday 9 February, 6PM
Enjoy a spectacular night of memorable entertainment while raising money for the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity and supporting the rebuilding of the Infant Bereavement Suite at Leighton Hospital. Laugh, sing and tap your feet to a wide variety of musicians and performers from across the community, including radio’s most loved family Buzz Hawkins’ The Bradshaws. Featuring Catherine Fraser School of Irish Dance, The Nightingale Choir, Crewe Amateur Musical Society, Nantwich Concert Band, Matrix Cheer Squad and musicians Megan Lee, Oli Ng and Callum Wright.
