Singer Jonathan Tarplee performs live from his narrowboat on Facebook Live

Nantwich-based singer-songwriter Jonathan Tarplee has been keeping music lovers entertained during the Coronavirus lockdown.

Jonathan has performed numerous free live concerts on Facebook Live during the pandemic crisis to lift the spirits of local residents and beyond during this unprecedented period.

He lives on a narrowboat on the Shropshire Union Canal and broadcasts his performances from his canal boat moored on the edge of the town in Nantwich.

Viewers are encouraged to add comments, a Like, a Heart, and his gigs are also saved, so can be watched back later.

Jonathan said: “There are no gigs in venues at the moment – doing online shows is a way for musicians to just keep doing what we are compelled to do, as well as keeping in touch with the public.”

Meanwhile, staff and pupils at Adelaide School in Crewe have been busy making headbands for the NHS.

Executive Head Sarah Martin, HLTA Denise Compton and year 10 student Kiera Gee are pictured here with the first completed batch.

Kiera was eager to put her sewing skills to good use to help our amazing doctors, nurses and Hhealth care professionals at Leighton Hospital.
