Round Table Santa float

Volunteers of Crewe & Nantwich Round Table have been extra busy in the lead up to Christmas and have unveiled their annual Santa’s Float timetable.

They have pulled together a “Covid compliant” schedule for Santa to tour the streets and continue a tradition of more than 40 years.

It will start on December 9 in Shavington, and over the next two weeks will visit Hough/Weston, Wrenbury/Aston, Audlem, Willaston, Wybunbury.

On December 18-20, it will be in Nantwich in Barony Park, Crewe Road and London Road, finishing in Barbridge and Worleston on December 20.

To comply with all UK Government and Charity Commission guidelines there will be no static town centre collections or door to door collections.

Routes have been amended to reflect the changes so families are urged to listen for the music and give Santa a wave from their gardens and windows.

The Round Table has set up an online just giving page for donations in place of door to door cash donations.

A spokesperson said: “Even in these difficult times for many families it is hoped that we can raise much needed funds for the local area.”

“We have secured some amazingly generous sponsorship from various local businesses so that the costs of actually running the float have been covered so all funds raised through our just giving page will go directly to local good causes.

“Without the support of these 10 local businesses who all shared our view that taking Santa to the streets is absolutely essential the situation may have been a lot worse so I’m sure you’ll join us in thanking them all.”

Sponsors include ABP Motorsport, Watts Mortgage, Davies Osteopaths, Nantwich Marina & Canal Centre, ICater Ltd, AH Tree Surgeon, Premier Auto Detailing, J A Roberts Building Contractors, Afford Bond, Star Learners South Cheshire

Further information on specific route details will follow on the Official Crewe & Nantwich District Round Table Facebook page.

If national lockdown is extended past December 2 in the local area our hands may be tied and we will be unable to take Santa to the streets under any circumstances which we all hope won’t be the case.
