car crashed into house on welsh row

A car has ploughed into a house on Welsh Row in Nantwich.

Witnesses saw the incident unfold at around 8pm tonight (December 10).

It’s believed the incident involved a blue Audi A3 at the junction of Queens Drive with Welsh Row.

The vehicle was badly damaged, and there was visible damage caused to the exterior wall of a house opposite the turning for Queens Drive.

Police were called to investigate how the accident happened and wreckage was cleared away within an hour.

Officers say there was just one person in the vehicle at the time who was treated for minor injuries by paramedics at the scene.

One witness said: “Nasty accident…quite a bit of damage. Hoping residents and driver are all okay.”

A Nantwich Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene shortly after the collision whereby a vehicle had collided with a property on Welsh Row, the driver (sole occupant) sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

“Fortunately no one else was injured and no other vehicles involved.

“Both Cheshire fire and Cheshire east also attended the scene to assess the damage to the property and ensure it was safe and secure.

“Support has been offered to the home owners affected.”

  1. Did the council explore the option of furloughing any staff as some are obviously dependent on income streams for their wages – which makes it legitimate. Many councils did this, why not Nantwich?

  2. It was well before 10. It was around 8
